More Pittsburgh

From Mt. Washington, a neighborhood of Pittsburgh.  Pittsburgh has hills, really big hills and a bluff. there are 2 inclines that allow people to travel easily from the top of the bluff (Mt. Washington) to Pittsburgh.

 Downtown Pittsburgh from Mt. Washington

Here is Mt. Washington. There is a walkway along the bluff from one "incline" to the other. It is about a mile walk. We visited an old library that will be about 100 years old. It was very neat. There is also an older, very ornate Catholic church in Mt. Washington. We could not get all the way in but there were glass windows inside the foyer we could look in. It was beautiful.

Here are a couple of dear we saw grazing on shrubs.

This is from the bottom of the include looking up. The cars are on rails and a cable pulls them up.

Brian and I walked part way across the bridge right by our hotel. there are a lot of bridges in Pittsburgh as it has 3 rivers. It also makes for interesting time learning the roads. Fortunately, there was a shuttle from the hotel we used most of the time.

These next few pictures are of Heinz Field, home of the Steelers.  We were treated to dinner there 2 nights. It was amazing.

This pictures is taken from Pitt National Park - home of Fort Pitt. there is a lot of history in Pittsburgh. From here we walked across the bridge to get to the "train" station to go back to the hotel.  The intercity train is know as the "T" and makes several stops in the city.
